REHPS: (Rural Experience for Health Professions Students)
The goal of the Rural Experiences for Health Professions Students (REHPS) program is to increase the number of physicians, physician assistants, certified nurse practitioners and pharmacists who practice in rural and frontier communities of South Dakota.
The REHPS program will increase awareness of the need for health professionals to practice in rural areas. During these rotations, relationships will be formed between communities and students who mutually agree to support each other. Network members collaborate to provide health professions students with disaster preparedness training.
